O GAUGE TRAIN SHED ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
CONVENTIONAL & TIN PLATE VERSIONS
24 INCH X 16 INCH X 15 INCH
Designed and manufactured by Bridgeboss.com
This includes a model train passenger station shed made from Baltic birch plywood. Baltic birch was selected because of its high quality use in cabinet making. Window roofing is made from a clear acrylic material for easy see through of shed. This shed was manufactured using a CNC machine in order to achieve accuracy, precision, and consistently made parts. These units are available in kit form for your easy assembly and painting. This shed is sized for O Gauge but will equally adapt to many other train scales and gauges such as S and HO. The support columns can be altered to lower the overall height of the unit as dictated by your layout or train size.
These sheds are sold in 3 different finish levels along with 2 different configuration options and also include other optional add ons.
FINISH LEVELS:
1) Shed kits are available in an unfinished condition where buyer is responsible for all sanding, finishing, and painting.
2) Shed kits are supplied in a sanded and finished condition ready for painting by the buyer.
3) Shed kits are supplied completely finished and painted (in your choice of color).
CONFIGURATION OPTIONS:
Cutoff includes removing the exterior sides for a narrower version shed
OTHER OPTIONAL ADD-ONS:
Design of shed includes a tab (tongue) and slot configuration to enhance the assembly process and adds to the strength of the entire structure. All parts are glued (G) together in these tab (tongue) and slot locations. NOTE-the letter G throughout the procedure denotes a glued joint or position.
This procedure is based on my own experience. There may be other procedures that could work just as well or even better than what I have described. Please do a couple practice rounds of assembly before the final assembly is accomplished.
SANDING & FINISHING (when applicable):
Sanding of parts is best accomplished with the following tools:
PAINTING/STAINING: (when applicable):
For easier results, shed parts can be painted or stained before assembly in order to have access to all areas of parts. Tangs and groove sections should be protected during painting operation so that area remains as natural as possible for gluing process.
An alternate method of painting is to assemble unit complete and then accomplish painting.
Spray cans work great. Please make sure that you have determined paint type and color before beginning painting operation. Paint priming of parts is strongly advised. You should select and experiment on sample pieces of wood I have supplied before painting.
TOOLS AND ADHESIVES (GLUES) for assembly process
Suggested tools for assembly are as follows:
Please make a trial run through the entire assembly procedure to make certain that you understand each step. Once you begin the actual assembly process let the glue set for a couple hours between each major step.
